This Long Distance Visit Weekend is specifically catered towards Grade 11-12 students living outside of Ontario or far away.

Students Coming from a Distance

There’s nothing like an up-close-and-personal trip to our campus in Hamilton, Ontario to help you determine if Redeemer is the right fit for you. That’s why we’ve put together an awesome weekend visit just for students from far away! Accommodations and meals are free, and there’s even a subsidy for flights and gas!

Parents or chaperones are encouraged to come too! Redeemer will help you find accommodations (nearby) and will assist with your travel and lodging costs. Certain conditions apply, please contact our events coordinators for more details (campusvisit@redeemer.ca).

Campus Visit Travel Subsidy

Redeemer offers a subsidy to anyone who travels long-distance to participate in our campus visit program. To qualify, you need to speak with our events coordinators, preferably before you make your travel plans, in order to ensure everything is in order before you arrive on campus.

 If you’re driving…

The travel reimbursement can be valued up to a maximum of $150 in gas gift cards to assist with your costs. please contact our events coordinators for more details (campusvisit@redeemer.ca).

If you’re flying…

The travel reimbursement will be valued up to a maximum of $400:

  1. $200 will be mailed to you after you have participated in our visit program.
  2. $200 (or the remainder of your airfare, whichever is less) will be mailed to you when you complete your application.*

Please be aware that reimbursements cannot be given for flights paid through any other flight reimbursement plan (i.e. Air Miles, etc.). Please contact the events coordinators before making travel arrangements so that they can best help plan your visit, arrange airport pick-up, and give instructions on how to receive your travel reimbursement for flights.

We will pick-up and drop-off from the Hamilton or Toronto airport between the hours of 6 am-11 pm. Please try to arrive and depart between these times.

*Please note: students are eligible for the Fly-Me subsidy for one visit event to Redeemer. We cannot provide reimbursement for subsequent visits.

Arrivals (throughout the afternoon/evening)

4:30-5:00 PM — Registration

5:00 PM — Dinner on campus

7:00 PM —  Student Life event on campus

Sunday

9:00 AM — Breakfast on campus

10:00 AM — Attend a local church with current students at Meadowlands CRC

12:00 PM — Lunch on campus

1:00-5:00 PM — Afternoon activities

5:00 PM — Dinner on campus

7:00 PM — Attend on campus Rooted Worship service

Monday – Campus Visit Day Schedule

8:00 AM — Breakfast on campus

8:30-9:00 PM Arrive early to register for Campus Visit Day

9:00 AM — Introductions & Welcome

9:20 AM —  Faculty panel

10:00 AM — Attend a class OR have an academic building tour

11:00 AM — Information Sessions

12:00 PM — Attend a class OR have an academic building tour

1:00 PM — Lunch with faculty, staff and students

1:45 PM — Deep Dive Sessions (programs, athletics etc.)

2:30 PM — Student life session OR Parent session

3:15 PM – Close

 

Monday Night- Parent Dinner at 6PM

If your parent(s) are also coming, please sign up here to reserve your seat.

Dinner and activities will be arranged for you on campus separately during that time.
