As the calendar turns to a new year and a new decade, the Re Campaign — and the 2020 Strategic Plan it funded — officially comes to a close. With over $19.25 million raised from over 900 donors, this has been the largest and most successful campaign in Redeemer’s history.

The vision for the plan was to ensure that Redeemer’s mission remained relevant and impactful for a new generation of future Christian leaders. It had three major priorities: renewing the academic program, raising the profile and securing a stable financial foundation.

“With gratefulness to a faithful support community, we can report that all initiatives of the 2020 Strategic Plan have been successfully launched and are fully funded.”

“With gratefulness to a faithful support community, we can report that all initiatives of the 2020 Strategic Plan have been successfully launched and are fully funded,” said President Dr. Robert J. Graham. “The past five years have laid an exciting foundation on which we can build our next strategic plan.”

The prefix “re” means “once more” and was chosen to illustrate Redeemer moving forward while acknowledging its founding mission. Founded on the belief that Christ came to redeem the world and promised to restore it, Redeemer has and will continue to be deeply invested in the work of reforming — restoring — our world in Christ.

“Over the past five years, the initiatives of the plan have revitalized Redeemer’s mission to develop tomorrow’s Christian leaders,” said Dr. David Zietsma, Vice President of External Relations and Enrolment. “This important renewal, that began in late 2014, also positioned the university well to undertake a critical and complex tuition fee restructuring in February 2019, made possible by a significant donation over and above the campaign goals.”

At the dawn of a new decade, Redeemer is poised to be a leader in Christian higher education in North America. It is also more accessible than ever for students who desire a Christ-centred education that integrates faith and learning to prepare them to follow God’s call for their lives.
