Who We Are: Redeemer’s Identity
Redeemer is a Christian university. The school body is inter-denominational, with over 50+ denominations represented. Our roots are in the Reformed tradition which means we view Jesus Christ as having Lordship over all creation and believe that the Bible alone is the authoritative Word of God for our lives. As a liberal arts and sciences university, Redeemer’s education is rooted in an inter-disciplinary core curriculum taken by every student. This means our programs are well-rounded and flexible and encourages students to develop their gifts as they prepare for the realities of a fast-paced, constantly changing world and workforce. Redeemer offers Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degrees.

Registered Education Savings Plan
The Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is a tax-sheltered plan that can help you save for a child’s post-secondary education. As a parent, you can open an RESP with your bank and make contributions to it for your children specifically for the purposes of their post-secondary education. The government matches 20% on the first $2,500 contributed annually to an RESP, invested along with your contributions. Contact your bank for more information.
Students enrolled in degree programs at Redeemer may be eligible for assistance under the Canada Student Loans Program and/or provincial student loan programs. Ontario students are eligible for assistance under the 30% Off Ontario Tuition (OTG) program. Details can be found through the appropriate government ministry of the student’s province of residence.
Tuition Tax Credit
A student is generally entitled to a tax credit for tuition paid, plus an education credit based on $400 a month of full-time ($120 for part-time) attendance in school. If he or she doesn’t need the credits to reduce her taxes to nil, she can transfer up to $5,000 of these costs to a parent, grandparent or supporting spouse, or carry them forward for use in a later year.
