About
Ruth Thomas joined Redeemer as a biology lab instructor in July of 2023. Before joining the faculty, she completed her Master’s in Clinical Anatomy at Western University. During graduate school, she served in several teaching assistantships within health science disciplines, followed by working as a research assistant at Western University in the Anatomy and Cell Biology department.
Research Interests
Ruth’s research interests include studying the effects of maternal immune activation on placental and neurodevelopmental outcomes, following an exposure to an immune stimulus. Understanding the effects of immune challenges on fetal neurodevelopment could provide insight into placental and brain abnormalities during pregnancy and behavioral deficiencies after birth.
